Trenched concrete is typically a fix to a construction error. New concrete has to be poured but it will never match the old slab. When there are trenches and put-backs throughout the floor a creative solution to this common construction issue is to saw-cut out shapes such as rectangles or circles then stain them to look intentional.

We encountered this issue at this showroom at the Domain in Austin. First we saw-cut around the trenches, then we filled in the saw-cut joints around the V’s and bands of light trenches with copper metallic epoxy. Using metallic epoxy for that is very handy.
